SOUČASNÁ ZPRÁVA

(Current Report)

Report: February - March 15, 2008

17 March 2008

Dear Brethren,

We hope that this finds all of you doing well.  We are doing fine here in the Czech Republic.  Spring has begun here in the Czech Republic, with the earliest flowers blooming and some trees beginning to bud out.  We are always happy to see this time of the year, regardless of how mild the winter might have been.

SUPPORT

The support that we lost has been made up by an individual Christian in Texas, so our support needs have now been taken care of.  Thank you to those who have contacted us concerning this.

THE CHURCH IN LITOMYŠL

Average Sunday Attendance (February): 20

Average Sunday Bible Study Attendance (February): 20

Contribution: $338 (February)

The church in Litomyšl continues to do well.  We are now using our new songbooks, and learning some of the new songs that we added to it.  There is still some improvement to do, and these editions are really only temporary to test them out.  A more permanent edition will come later.

My preaching during this period has been on a variety of subjects.  I also continue to teach the adult Bible class on the book of Acts.  Ivana is teaching the pre-school class, while Pavla Lustykova is teaching the school-age class.

WEB SITE - STUDENTS

February 1 - March 15 - 1227 visitors

We continue to have a large number of visitors to our webpage.  Unfortunately, there were very few questions sent in during this time, and no new requests for the correspondence course.  We did have one individual request Bible literature by mail.  All of those from the previous report have either finished the correspondence course, or did not continue in it.

The young married woman named Dáša T., who lives in a small village about 35 km (22 miles) from Litomyšl continues to meet with me and Ivana to study the Bible.  She and her baby were sick, and then she had to have her wisdom teeth removed, so we have not see each other in about 4 weeks now.

I continue to visit the two Christian women (Milena and Helena) in Rychnov nad Kněžnou as we all have opportunity.

ENGLISH BIBLE CONVERSATION

The Bible Classes in English in our home in Horní Jelení continue.  There are  7 people attending these classes (one woman had to quit coming, for reasons she didn’t explain).  This particular class is studying Genesis.  We meet  every week on Tuesday at 8 p.m. till about 9-9:15 p.m.

FINAL WORDS

My parents will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on March 28.  I will be travelling to Texas on March 26, so that I can celebrate this with them. Ivana and the children will be staying in the Czech Republic.  I leave Texas to return to the Czech Republic on March 30.

Thank you again for your interest in the work here in the Czech Republic.  If I can answer any questions you might have, please feel free to write.

Yours in Christ,

Steven & Ivana
